All photos: food cabinet Anna Power Åhlén. Fancy Swedish coffee in New York? No problem. For those not content food cabinet with Starbucks or watery coffee at a diner, there are plenty of options. Best known coffee chain coffee, which I previously wrote about here on the blog. There, I interviewed Swedish Maria Ostberg, who got the dream job as their Fine Pastry Chef. The interview can be read here. If an honest cup Swedish filter coffee is your melody, I can heartily recommend a visit to the Swedish food cabinet Church in New York. There, waiting food cabinet also an incredibly calm, a refuge, a few meters from the Manhattan alarm. Even the Swedish Church has been interviewed by me. A very interesting visit, where I also had the pleasure to meet a bunch of older ladies who emigrated to the city in the 50th century.
In this blog post, a new tip - in a Swedish cafe in Williamsburg. Namely confectionery. The sign with the Swedish flag appeared suddenly in front of me, after an intense day at the food market Smorgasburg. I was not exactly hungry (for obvious reasons), so the pastries were devoted not close study. In contrast, I drank a cappuccino (moderately internationally) while I relaxed with free wifi. This benefit was utilized widely understood by many. Everywhere sat student or a freelancer bent over their laptoppar or smartphones.
Cafe menu offered a charming mix of Swedish and English. Perhaps for the pleasure of hearing Americans to order a "small English Roast"? The staff was not Swedish, with the exception of one person. He did, however, I do not talk to because he, according to the man at the counter, "was not further talkative". The Swede was obviously not meant to be immortalized with camera either, because I only managed to catch him in an extremely blurred version. Paparazzi is probably not the right career for me.
Anyway tasted coffee is good and the environment felt cozy. It is a very small room, but when the weather permits also attracts outdoor seats. On the New Yorkska brick walls boasting Confectionery multi Stockholm Photos - a good source of inspiration for topics of conversation if nothing else. A little proud, I recognized Södermalm next to my table. The name Patisserie is a good fit among other Swedish establishments in New York. Which, incidentally, is a trend, when Americans are attracted more and more of the "exotic" in Swedish traditions and Nordic food culture. COFFEE BREAK is already mentioned; another place is Sugar Cube, which still craving for Swedish candy.
In summary, Confectionery a cozy place to rest your legs on, when exploring Williamsburg. Unless food cabinet otherwise free to contact loved ones via Skype or Facebook. Would you like to visit the bakery? The address of the cafe in Williamsburg's 167 North 7th St, near Bedford Avenue. Confectionery is also available in more places in New York. Do not miss a bargain secondhand when you are in the neighborhood. Nearby is Crossroads Trading Co., an amazing store where you can stay indefinitely. Enjoy!
