We coloured perspex knew we wanted to meet with the “Former Miss Americas”. We learned, however, that they are not “Formers”, they are “Forevers”. I love this. It really embodies the idea that Miss America is forever. You may only serve for one year, but you will forever coloured perspex be a part of the Miss America sisterhood.
Carrie and I woke up early, mainly because we could not sleep. The signing did not start until 10am, but we got there just after 9am and there was already a line. Thankfully we were at the front end because by the time 10am rolled around coloured perspex it had increased dramatically and looped around the back. So many people coloured perspex wanted these beautiful ladies’ signatures!
And this was so evident. These beautiful, classy ladies were so excited to be back together. Many of them were chatting and joking around and catching up as we made our way through the line. I was so excited. At least 3 of them told me they liked my dress, so I told them I bought it for $8 at Plato’s Closet. One of them liked my necklace. 1988, Kaye Lani and I talked for a few moments. I told her she was one of my favorites and she joked that she won before I was even born. 2011, Teresa told me to tweet her the picture I took. She actually follows me on Twitter, so it is kinda a big deal.
