Clive Barker is one of the most popular modern horror writers, one of which Malosa idol, Stephen persplex King, believes "the persplex future of horror in literature". The fact is stressed much more as a writer than as a filmmaker but this novel adaptation of the eponymous film (though in English the novel entitled The Hellbound Heart) is not bad was not a great success.
This short novel is a marriage of Cory and Julia. Cory is a good natured and patient husband who harassed by debt decides to move to live in the house that has left a legacy to his brother Frank was the opposite. Frank was a rake, a scoundrel and a soulless hedonist who was able to seduce and sleep with the wife of his brother Cory on their wedding night. This is one of the focal points of the novel.
Helping with the move is Kristy, Cory's persplex best friend and true protagonist of the novel but read from more points of view. Kristy is in love with Cory and sees his kindness and patience persplex yet sexy Julia can not see it. However he married Julia and both have a relationship like little tense. persplex
After a domestic accident in which Cory bleeds into the attic, Julia discovers the stark shadow of Frank inhabiting the house. Frank has been caught by the Cenobites persplex in a kind of sadomasoquita hell where pleasure and pain are mixed to unbearable extremes, finally Frank has escaped and seeks to escape the hell that got mistakenly opened the box Lemarchand (also known as Lemarchand persplex puzzle).
Julia Frank promises to run away with her if you get more blood to gain strength and to escape from the hell of the Cenobites, that's how Julia begins with a ruthless persplex plan that includes murders including that of her husband persplex to run off with the ruthless Frank, while Kristy goes sensing that something is wrong and begins to investigate to try to save her from the evil woman frustrated persplex love.
Barker is a master of description and have a sick imagination for blood, guts and brutal torture, hell is hell his physical pain where the blades, nails and hooks are always present. Its also very powerful imagery out for the original and the sadistic, ie, do not consider it to everyone, yet it is one of the best horror stories (barely novel) I've read.
It remains forever in the popular imagination the Cenobite leader Pinhead, the bald guy with the nails in his head. This is one of the "monsters" of the cruelest most logical of all the literature I've found yet, attacked persplex mercilessly across the unwary seeking pleasure for pleasure delve into the secrets of puzzle Lemarchand and never in the innocent. persplex

I too enjoyed this book. Bitterblink I passed it long ago and I found it very entertaining. Mind you, I do not remember as sadistic as he paints it, but it is also true that I read some time ago and since then may have read worse, lol. If I like horror and I Saw type movies persplex go, I think it is a perfect novel! Malosa
