Synopsis: Le Cirque des Reves is a circus either. Comes without warning, does not have a fixed schedule and under the main tent hide many other tents, each with a different show. From magicians to tamers, contortionists and fire-eaters, but also many other wonders. The circus is not a circus, but a huge board game in which two players must demonstrate their ability to choose a winner.
I liked this novel, even though it was quite suspiciously after seeing a negative review. I can not say that has me hooked and has been glued to its pages to the finish, as it has been a different reading. He opened the book, I plunged into the magical world of the early twentieth century and savoring each chapter as if it were hot chocolate.
It is narrated in this, but most of the time I not even notice. This type of story can slow a book (I've only really seen it work in chick-lit) and yet, this book fits so well, you almost forget you're reading a book, you are so engrossed with the story. The narrative lauren barker voice is outside the frame, so it's lauren barker almost as if you were telling a friend a story.
The chapters alternate different times and characters. We jumped from 1890 to 1903 and back again behind. I had the feeling that this structure wanted to emulate the distribution circles Le Cirque des Reves, the forward and backward continuously. It can be a little confusing at first but you soon get used.
It is an absolutely masterful lauren barker novel coral. We have two clear protagonists, carrying most of the weight of history: Celia and Marco. For use from small to a challenge that neither they understand and spend years training to prove to be better than the other, yet unknown. But despite being the main characters, the narrative, alternating periods when narrating, will make all the founders of the circus and some outsiders, seem (or be) as important as them. The wealthy businessman who had the original idea, a different circus, all in black and white, elegant and classy circus. The architect who drew up the plans. lauren barker Costume designer. The contortionist. A German watchmaker. A farm boy who dreams of the circus.
All are small pieces of a mechanism lauren barker that is slowly fitting, until the end, where you can almost hear a slight click when everything is in place. So sorry this novel, as a perfect cuckoo clock, with each chime will revealing a new mystery.
I can not avoid mentioning the unfortunate cover, little (or nothing) has to do with the content. That cover does not think the end of s. XIX, in flamboyant dresses, refined manners, and elegant circuses. The English edition is considerably more successful.
I want to read, I have to look in my city libraries (which are numerous for such a "small" site). To me it suggested my homepage Mathias Malzieu style, such as illustrations tale for adults. But I almost like it more than you accounts. Kisses! May 25, 2012 7:43

I've read so (ahem) I can also say that I'm enjoying it. But also I have to confess that the first I found it very interesting and as they go through the pages, not so much. Now to see how the story ends. May 28, 2012, 17:10
Isi: I'm dying to know your opinion, but I think you'll like it ;) Zula: Nothing to do with Mathias Malzieu (with which I can, by the way), is an elaborate story. The cover is a horror ... Beleth: The cover has nothing to do with the plot! I do not know why would. Did you read it? Lesincele: If you do not attract the synopsis, for nothing woman be for readings! Tatty, If you are attracted by the theme of the circus, you will love it. It is the absolute protagonist, hehe. Pilar: The cover is a horror, and it's lauren barker a shame, because not hit anything with the story that the book. But there are books galore, it does not matter because you let it pass.
